problems unix password sync

Hi,
I installed Samba 2.0.5a as PDC under Aix 4.2.1.
It works fine, however setting

	unix password sync = True

gives following output in my log.smb file:

           smbd/chgpasswd.c:chat_with_program(295) 
           Cannot Allocate pty for password change: schuster


What is wrong? Can anybody help me?
