Another way to look at it ? I use a set of scripts to create accounts for
about 450 users, each is is given a random (with some limits) passwd and
then I print off a sheet for each (using mail merge) with both their user
name, password and some simple instructions on how to change the password
to something of their own choice. 

Better than having to change everyone's by hand !
