Please Help "Can't IPC_STAT"

	When trying to run smbpasswd or even smbstatus, I get error
messages.  smbstatus returns an error:"Can't IPC stat.  Failed to initialize
shrare modes."  smbpasswd returns "Failed session request. Broken Pipe."
	I am using the latest CVS release as of 6/24.  I'm not sure exactly
how to troubleshoot this one.  I can include the smb.conf file if it will
help.  Also, this is a fresh install on a new SGI O2.
