smbpasswd problems

Nope, positive about it.

Everythings works apart from this, and I've confirmed
it as I've moved all my users to the top.

Are you sure that's the condition? Whenever I see something like that it
usually ends up that the next user in the list no longer exists in /etc/passwd
or NIS.

Could that be your problem as well?
