No .. NT creates them and stores them on the linux server.
(default in the users home dir)
But you might want to put the profiles in a seperate dir

i.e. 
[profiles]

/user1  (owned by user1)
/uesr2  (owned by user2)

.. etc .. see the faq from jeremy for more info on this
