Logging in to Samba

Hello,

    I have Samba 2.03 running as a PDC and have a bunch of workstations
logging in to it.  I have a script mapping drives and setting the time
and some other fluff functions, but some people can't get Samba to
authenticate them.  I get an error message that says "Your password is
incorrect ...", I know the password is correct obviously and I know that
user can reach the machine, it just seems like the communication is just
taking too long and Windows or Samba is giving up.  I've created an
LMHOSTS file to try to give Windows a hand, but to no avail.  Any
suggestions would be wonderful.
