need help on roaming profiles

Looks like you haven't enabled writing access to your profiles share.
BTW it's a good idea too to restrict read and write access to the 
creator of the profile! E.g.:

[profiles]
   path = /home/profiles
   writable = yes
   create mode = 0600
   directory mode = 0700

In the [global] section better set
   logon path = \\%L\profiles\%U
