error w/ 'sbmpasswd -j <domain> -r <PDS>'

Ok, I am having a problem hooking up my Samba box (Linux) with my NT box
(SP5).  The Linux box is ln1, and the NT box is roses.  When I type in:

smbpasswd -j FLOWERS.DOM -r roses

I get this error:  

error connecting to 192.168.0.2:139 (Connection refused)
modify_trust_password: unable to connect to SMB server on machine ROSES.
Error was : code 0.
1999/12/15 03:09:46 : change_trust_account_password: Failed to change
password for domain FLOWERS.DOM.

I DID go into the "Windows NT Workstation or Server" and create an
account for LN1.

Any ideas what I amd doing wrong?
