That jogged my memory too. I did a similar thing using some libaries made
by a fellow called martin Djernaes at http://einstein.ot.dk/~djernaes
(then!). Worked fine and used a protocol called 'mail slot'. I think from
memory martin provides both C and Delphi (pascal) libaries.

This approach will at least let you make a receive only system that can be
made a little harder to shut down.
