Case Preservation Problems

HI. 
     I seem to be having a problem with case preservation on my Samba file server.  I set the smb config with the "preserve case=yes" setting and the case of new directories and files is still forced to lower.  I have the exact same setting enabled on my Samba DC but, it allows the case to be retained.  Weird.  Does anyone know of a different setting that needs to be added, removed or changed in the config to allow case preservation?  BTW, i'm running version 2.0.5a.  Thanks!
