Can't bcecome connected user?

Actually, I didn't. I tried, at first to modify the config template. That
didn't work for some reason (I was compiling the Debian Linux samba package,
which is a process which wraps the building of the software itself and I
guess was somehow generating the config defaults each time) so I just
stopped the thing after it wrote the config.cache and before it wrote the
config.h file and edited the config.cache manually to disable them. Ugly, I
know, but I was in a hurry to set up some machines that were going to be
shipped out shortly.
