Mapping SAMBA NT-groupnames with a german NT system

If the local-admin problem is the only cause you changed to 2.1,  use 2.0
and say:

domain admin group = @ntadmins

(where ntadmins:x:1000:user1,user2,user3 is in your /etc/group file).

I know that the group mechanism in 2.1 is much more advanced, but for all
those people needing 8-bit support at least for filenames, that's the only
way to get it (I'm one of them...).

I patched 2.0.3 to support Umlauts for server names, shares, descriptions.
Then I patched 2.1.0 prealpha from somewhen in July to support the same,
seeing that 8-bit support even for filenames (which already worked in
2.0.0) doesn't work at all. So I stopped development and wanted to wait
for 2.1 to support umlauts in filenames in general. Then I wanted to
continue with my efforts.

Is there anyone who can (is willing to) estimate when umlauts in filenames
will work (again) in 2.1? Or even point me the piece of code where the
translation happens (or should happen) in 2.1?
