I have this working with the following.

Redhat Linux 5.2  and Samba-2.0.3

Here are the relevant bits from smb.conf

Global
         ...
         case sensitive = No
         preserve case = Yes
         ...

[netlogon]
         comment = Network Logon Service Directory
         path = /home/samba/netlogon
	 browseable = Yes
         create mask = 0755
         locking = No
         root preexec = /home/samba/netlogon/logonscript %U %m


and the policy file in /home/samba/netlogon

-rwxrwxr-x   1 root     root        16384 Apr  1 12:50 ntconfig.pol
