Profile migration questions.

Currently we are using local profiles on every machine.  I would like to
migrate to networked profiles, but not go fully to roaming profiles.  Is it
possible?  Also, what are the most logical steps in the process to maintain
the same look/feel for users to reduce resistance to the migration.
