DEC Alpha OSF 4.0d and gcc 2.8.1

I did a fresh cvs checkout of Samba 2.0 Beta1 but I am unable to compile
the code on a DEC Alpha OSF 4.0d.  We are using gcc 2.8.1 and receive the
following errors after configure and make:
