logging in allowed with no password

We have several PCs with Domain Logins via Samba.  On these machines you
don't have to give a password to login.  When you login it doesn't give
you access to network drives,  it seems to be a bit like hitting ESCAPE
on Windows 95.  Is this meant to happen?  How can I change Samba/the PC
so you have to give your password before you can login?
