On Samba 4.7.6 Server - Ubuntu 18.04 ( it seems in Samba 4.3.11 too ) :
Read and write operations on files is ok.
Running an .exe file on the share produce a lot of child processes ( it seems 1 for .exe and 1 for every .dll called by the .exe ).
After terminated ( and closed ) .exe file, processes are NOT terminated.
Running the same .exe file AGAIN produce a lot of NEW child processes.
All child processes are keeped when the windows session is closed too.
All child processes have the same owner: noboby nogroup
The only way to workaround is set client max protocol down to NT1; downgrade to SMB2 does not risolve this issue.
But NT1 is discurage e not installed in Windows 10.
Has someone found a better solution ?
Thanks, Stefano
