[Samba-it] NEWBIE Prima configurazione

un dubbio.
Al punto 3 il doc. recita:
Initialize the Microsoft Windows password database with the new users:

root# smbpasswd -a mario
New SMB password: mysecret
Reenter smb password: mysecret
Added user root.

Questo passaggio aggiunge l'utente mario (già presente come account sul PC  
linux) al file delle paswd di samba o cosa???

Se, ad esempio metto per questo utente una pswd diversa da quella che usa  
per accedere alla macchina linux che succede???
