[Samba-it] Problema accesso al dominio PDC conm samba 3.0.5

Ho configurato samba come pdc seguendo tutta la procedura indicata qui

tuttavia quando provo a collegare il pc al dominio mi sempre questo errore: 

Durante il tentativo di aggiungere il computer al dominio "BCL" si è 
verificato il seguente errore: 
Errore durante l'accesso: nome utente sconosciuto o password non valida. 

Eppure ho configurato correttamente smbpassword e gli script per aggiungere 
le macchine al dominio.

Deduco che non riesce a trovare il file smbpasswd, anche se esiste!

Qualcuno ha qualche indicazione da darmi su cme risolvere il problema?
Sul pc (Windows XP Pro) ho applicato le modifiche necessarie per
autenticarsi al dominio (sia nel registro che nel criteri i protezione)
