Message-ID: Hi all Anyone know if there is a SAMBA Migration HOWTO. I currently have 150+ accounts with all files being shared on the PDC I'm intending to migrate all my files from an NT4 PDC to a SAMBA Domain Member Server I intend to use winbind & the "password=server" option to pass the authentication off to the PDC. I am a little confused about accounts that need creating on the Samba Server + controlling access to dir's etc as it is currently setup on the PDC. The Windows users should not know that I have migrated them to Samba. Also what's the deal with the ACL patch... are most people using it, are there any issues... what can I expect to see from the windows side with and without the patch in use ? -ipguy From e1rJulie at shaw.ca Wed May 7 12:04:28 2003 From: e1rJulie at shaw.ca (e1rJulie@shaw.ca) Date: Fri Feb 13 23:41:32 2004 Subject: Lengthy Subject Message-ID: <20030507120301.C87FA2C487@lists.samba.org> *Viagra Death Toll Rises: over 5640 men have died. Feel free if that is what you want. I will say that the SPAM filters on samba.org generally do a good job. A lot of this stuff you never see. Apart from a moderated list (which won't happen), we are going for a best effort. Tim & Martin monitor and tune the filters fairly regularly. cheers, jerry ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hewlett-Packard ------------------------- http://www.hp.com SAMBA Team ---------------------- http://www.samba.org GnuPG Key ---- http://www.plainjoe.org/gpg_public.asc "You can never go home again, Oatman, but I guess you can shop there." --John Cusack - "Grosse Point Blank" (1997) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://quantumlab.net/pine_privacy_guard/ iD8DBQE+ykwvIR7qMdg1EfYRAjfGAKCM5cluE5m/vblrTb4/FCHcDE5jAgCfSdDE mabOrrmxK6Q8632bu1qFGi0= =xZS4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From haven at thehavennet.org.uk Tue May 20 16:51:25 2003 From: haven at thehavennet.org.uk (Haven) Date: Fri Feb 13 23:41:32 2004 Subject: Contents of mail lists In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <3ECA5D0D.60107@thehavennet.org.uk> Hi Thanks for the response. I think I over reacted in my response, and for that I appologise - I could give a slew of excuses but ultimately I was caught at a bad moment and responded much more negatively than was appropriate. As always hindsight is a wonderful thing. Once again - sorry for the negative viewpoint I put forwards, I appreciate all the good work the samba maintainers are doing and a limited ammount of spam is an innevitable on any open mailing list.
