1. What distorbution of Linux?

2. Have you set the permissions on those files and directories 
appropriately?  I don't mean through Samba, I mean through Linux.  Samba 
will not provide access to files or directories that aren't specified as 
accessible by the underlying file system.  You might also want to change 
the ownership / group of the directory in question to 'nobody'.
