Message-ID: Hello, I am looking for some documentation about SID's and RID's in samba. I found few things in file which I obtained with my samba sources (samba-2.2.7/docs/textdocs/cifsntdomain.txt). In at least two places in this file I found somthing like "SID's have been well documentet elsewhere", but no tip where. I failed to find it. Could anybody tell me where "elsewhere" is ? MSDN, mostly. Not that it's a perferct source of information, but the SID's structure and RIDs (well-known, for instance) should be explained there. There is always of course the samba source code, but that's out of "documentation" category. cheers, +--------------------------------------------------------+ |Rafal 'Mimir' Szczesniak | |*BSD, GNU/Linux and Samba / |______________________________________________________/ From jay at jayts.cx Sun Nov 24 06:06:59 2002 From: jay at jayts.cx (Jay Ts) Date: Fri Feb 13 23:41:30 2004 Subject: elsewhere - where is it? SIDs and RIDs are Microsoft technology. Look in: 1. Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP Resource Kit (book). The printed book is about $40 or so. The Windows 2000 Resource Kits (both Pro and Server) are free online at http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/reskit and are searchable. 2. The Advanced Search at Microsoft's website.
