Is there interst in ssl these days?

I didn't mean this option should be supported and actively developed.
It's just about leaving it until one day it appears that it should be
retired or left broken as result of some changes in source code. It
that case it will be wrong to try to keep it alive.
If it is a hassle now to keep it in the code, then I agree -- it may
go away ...
