what has that to do with midl?
doesn't that change the wire data?

I think we should better use

[in] [string,charset(UTF16)] uint16 binary_path[],,

instead of

[in,ref] [string,charset(UTF16)] uint16 *binary_path,

if we don't want the pointer on the wire...
