I was the one who submitted the patch. Who doesn't have "awk"? :-)
What prompted this patch was the fact that each time I did an update
from CVS, it would no longer compile unless I did a "make proto"
(which I invariably forgot to do). Is there some alternate mechanism
to solve this problem? (A valid response might be, "Remember to run
"make proto" after doing a CVS update," and I'll just have to live
with it.)
Thanks,
