It's only to HEAD, not 2.2, so it's not as bad as you think.  =)

Hmmm... well, it is HEAD, so people should be accustomed to some
incompatibilities as things move along.  Do you think it's necessary to
revert the changes and re-commit with a new message, or can we get away
with a mail to samba-technical explaining the change?
