CVS update: samba/source/include

Jerry,

The version number can affect management tools within NT.
It seems that whole number upgrades get interpreted as having higher
precidence. When I first discovered this I set the Major number at 7 abd
the minor number at 9 and found myself in all sorts of trouble with the
master control program for the Citech process control software package.
Server Manager on NT4 also barfed on me. This stops if you drop the number
so it is within the same number range as the lowest NT member on your
network.

What baffles me is the Win2K sets this to major 5 minor 0, and it appears
not to hose anything. I have not been able to identify what the "other"
missing factor is, nor have I any more than academix interest in the cause
at this time.

Jeremy and I have been reluctant to move this too far ahead of the actual
version M$ uses and we originally decided to keep change to a minimum.

I chose to bump it up but still to keep within the NT4 range. For what it
is worth here are the values reported by NT:
	NT 3.10 (first release) - Major 3 Minor 1
	NT 3.50 - Major 3 Minor 5
	NT 4.0 - Major 4 Minor 0
	NT 5.0 - Major 5 Minor 0

We monitored the mailing list following each change and noticed no
reaction. Sometime in 1.9.18 series we added to configurable parameter to
set this in smb.conf. I have played with it a lot since then and still get
flaky behaviour is the version is bumped above the major of the lowest
version NT member.

I figure that bumping the Minor number up is not unreasonable given that
much has changed in terms of what protocols we now support, eg: point and
click NT printing, User authentication from the Samba domain for Win9X
resources, etc.

Hope this full help some more.

Cheers,
John T.
