after a lot of stuffing around in the connection cache layers in tng
(which I _hate_ btw) I have managed to get winbindd to re-connect to
the PDC and re-initialise when the server comes back after being down
(or maybe a BDC has taken over).

The connection cache code has got to be deleted sometime. It makes it
damn difficult to reset everything and start again when an error
occurs.
