Would it make sense to throttle the timestamps?  I.e. have DEBUG() only
print a timestamp if the last one was more than, say, ten seconds (or
configurable) before?

That would cause multi-line DEBUG spews to just Do The Right Thing
automatically.  If you guys agree, I can do a patch.
