jeremy, how about using DEBUGADD in all the marshalling code, or adding a
temp-flag to disable "debug timestamps" whilst marshalling?

[for the record]

"Debug timestamps = yes" is an ABSOLUTE nuisance that makes dce/rpc
debugging of marshalling / unmarshalling issues TOTALLY impossible.

receiving debug logs on a daily basis from people who have "debug
timestamps = yes" is just simply... unacceptable.

having to do "grep -v \[2000" log.client > foo on every single file is
_Also_ unacceptable. it¶ just way, way too much work and effort,
especially for people who have to minimise typing.

f.y.i., there have been no complaints from people using tng, with debug
timestamps = no as the default.
