Important for HEAD too!
hash_clear in hash.c was a buggy and left the hash more or
less unitialised. (memory corruption)
Noticed when sending smbd HUP too often.
(this patch is the only difference to HEAD, so a merge into
HEAD should be easy: diff head/hash.c tng/hash.c, cp)
