TAG meaning

Some updates have

What are we using SAMBA_2_0_RELEASE to mean.  Its almost self explanatory.

Do these updates affect the current 2.0.x code?
Do they also affect the head code?
Are they also marked "SAMBA_2_0_RELEASE" so its easy for someone to get a
certain targetted release?

I suspect the answer in each case is yes, but would like to be sure.
