more of that ntdom_split_point -> current cvs tree merging stuff.

unfortunately, i have committed the revision crime of doing two different
sets of things, in one cvs commit.  i'm attempting to alleviate this by
committing the rpc_pipes/ directory separately (where the majority of
the development, instead of cvs catch-up, is going on.  there's no cvs
catch-up in the rpc_pipes/ directory...)
