rsync: Update xattrs on existing target?

Hello everyone :)

I have 2 copies of data, where the source has a lot of xattrs (>4kB per
value) on it.

1. disk1 (source): The original source (lots of xattrs, >4kB per value
on it)
2. disk2 (target):  A copy of "just the files" (no xattrs)

When I do `rsync -avP --xattrs`, I'd expect rsync to be aware that the
file-contents are present. But will it reliably copy the missing xattrs
over from the source, if there it considers the file-contents matching?

It's ~7 TB of payload, so I can only do spot-checking.

Grateful for any insights if rsync will do this, or if I need to add
another flag to be sure?
I'd hate to re-copy everything, knowing only the xattrs are missing... ;)

Thanks!
Peter
