            Bug ID: 11489
Summary: --update --size-only ignored when syncing / dump
                    copies everything
           Product: rsync
           Version: 3.1.1
          Hardware: x64
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P5
         Component: core
          Assignee: wayned at samba.org
          Reporter: renegat at gmx.de
        QA Contact: rsync-qa at samba.org

Package: rsync 3.1.1-4
Architecture: x86_64 GNU/Linux

What it isn't doing:
When trying to sync two mounted identical structured folders on two hosts using

rsync -vhtru "/path/folder" "user at 192.168.000.1:/path/"
works as expected but
rsync -vhtru "/path/folder/" "user at 192.168.000.1:/path/folder"
dump copies everything - even with -u and --size-only given!

What it should be doing:
According to man pages

rsync -av /src/foo /dest
and
rsync -av /src/foo/ /dest/foo

should do the same
