To do that, you’d have to find out how much data is being added daily. I would think that would closely resemble your nightly diff copies.

Subject: estimating nightly diffs
Hey all,
Any suggestions on how to estimate how much data rsync would synchronize on average in a given installation? Assume that a full rsync has already run and the only data being updated is just the daily diffs.
Thanks,
noam
