# {***user***}/home/user----> rsync --version
rsync version 2.5.5 protocol version 26
Copyright (C) 1996-2002 by Andrew Tridgell and others
<http://rsync.samba.org/>
Capabilities: 64-bit files, socketpairs, hard links, symlinks, batchfiles,
              IPv6, 64-bit system inums, 64-bit internal inums

This is a pretty old version I suppose... but I am running QNX so it might
be a little rough to easily find/compile a newer one. I think this is the
latest publicly available compiled package. I've not had good successes
compiling stuff on QNX, but I'd be willing to try if someone would be
willing to help me sort out the error messages I will undoubtedly receive :)

    Note also that host and module references don't require a trailing
    slash to copy the contents of the default directory.

So in this case the trailing slash wouldn't make a difference.

You don't mention what versions of rsync are involved...
