Since you are running the command with --dry-run, are you using 2.6.4 on
both ends?  If not, then you should create all the destination
directories to avoid any warnings about non-existent directories (older
versions didn't handle missing directories correctly with --dry-run).
The spaces shouldn't have any effect on the command you mention (the
ones where the special characters are properly quoted or escaped).
