I've perused your HOWTO doc.  I didn't see an example backup command,
but I assume that rsync would work fine with Autodir.  Rsync can be
thought of as an optimized scp, so if Autodir can be made to use scp
for its backup command (or even "cp" itself), rsync should also be
able to also work.
