Thanks.  I've checked in a diff of my version of your patch.  It fixes a
couple minor issues I noticed in your patch and makes it work with the
very latest CVS source.  You can either checkout the CVS version, grab
the latest nightly tar file (see the rsync web site) or snag the diff
directly here:

    http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/unpacked/rsync/patches/compare-dest.diff
