Quoting a mail from Richard van Beers:

I'm in the same boat, rsync'ing over 100Gb of Maildir mailboxes between
two Solaris 7 based mail servers. Can't figure it out. It works
for smaller filesystems that I rsync as well (e.g. /var/spool/mqueue).

I've considered resource limits and made the user as 'root' in rsync's
config file (it used to be the user who owns all the mailboxes) but that
didn't help.

Richard, if you read this, have you made any progress?
