Yep, and I've been using it for almost three years for backing up 20+
windows workstations onto a linux server with the rsync + cp -al hard link
tree trick.

Had great success so far.

(That's a linux-2.2.x server - the e2compr 2.4 patch seemed shaky last I
checked.)
