--whole-file not working ?

schultz,

the reason why i use smb is that i am transfering
files from numerous (almost 40) M$ windoze machines
which i do not have access to .. so installing cygwin
is a gr8 bit of a job on so many machines.
its rather easy to set sharing on each machine. :-)
