Enhancement suggestion: improve the host not found error message

I think we need a Mac OSX user to supply a patch.  I have access to
a Mac OSX system remotely and tried the command and got a different
unhelpful error message:
    rsync: failed to connect to g45: No child processes

uname -a reports the same darwin kernel version.
