the full error message is:

The server is a dual pentium machine with 1.5 MB memory running (debian):
  Linux ns1 2.4.17 #6 SMP Mon Jan 21 13:41:02 EST 2002 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux

the version of rsync is: rsync  version 2.5.6cvs  protocol version 26

Is there a option/switch that will avoid this?
