[clug] CalDAV or WebDAV, whatever

Having acquired a new phone (Pixel 3a, Android 10) I find that it does not know how to sync
with Outlook which I have on a Windows laptop. Not that I like Outlook but my old Samsung
was syncing with it so It was a good way to manage and backup my calendar/contacts.

In case it is not clear: no cloud, no google please.

It seems that my option now is to implement my own sync solution, and one suggestion is
to use something like "CalendarSync"(*1) on the phone and install my own server on my
linux server.

I understand that CalDAV/WebDAV are protocols and the server will allow me to then have
both my phone and outlook sync with it, though Outlook may still need some plugin.

I may very well be barking up the wrong tree, whatever satisfied my need will do.

Now this is outside my comfort zone but I am ready to learn. If anyone here can chime
in with pointers to HowTo documents, or suggest a best practice solution, preferably
from own experience, it will help me nicely.

cheers,
