Hi All,
As many of you know, I’m compiling a history of computing at ANU,
prompted by the fact that 2021 is the 50th anniversary of undergraduate
Computer Science teaching at ANU. The book is progressing well and I
hope to have it finished early in the new year.
If you would like to contribute to the history by telling your story,
contributing an anecdote, passing on photos, or expressing a viewpoint,
please let me know very soon — I would like to have all the material
together by *20 Dec 2020*.
Three options are available:
1. Send me some text by email for inclusion. (The book is being
prepared in LaTeX, so if you need to supply formatting, please use
that format. Otherwise, plain text.)
2. Contact me to arrange a chat.
3. Tell me that you’d like to do it by question and answer, and I’ll
make up some questions for you.
I’m aiming for “Entertaining and Accurate” rather than “Comprehensive.”
I’m likely to make small edits but if I do I will check the result
with you.
Writing about the current situation is quite appropriate — hopefully
this book will be a resource for the person writing about the centenary
in 50 years time.
If you have already contributed, thank you. If you have agreed to
contribute, please accept this as a reminder. By all means pass this
invitation on to anyone else who might wish to contribute.
Regards to all,
Dave
