A non-KDE app that I routinely use is "qpdfview".  Has the advantage 
that multiple PDF can be loaded simultaneously in different tabs.  This 
is great if you are co-ordinating a discussion group having several 
presentations, as I routinely do. Avoids the disruption of swapping 
laptops in/out.  This mode might not suit technical presentations where 
people want to demonstrate particular features of an app/device.

Okular is a more capable PDF viewer, supporting text copy etc, but does 
not do tabbed reading.
