Title: High Capacity Optical Networking - Tim Rayner, AARNet.

When ISPs and network providers link their interstate and
international routers together, a lot of this heavy lifting
is done with specialised optical networking equipment.
Join Tim as he explains how you make 100Gbps, 200Gbps or
even 400Gbps speeds happen, and the mind-bending maths required
to make it happen. He'll also touch on how modern undersea cable
providers are making the most of their sunken assets, and explain
how Alien Wavelengths are not just something in Roswell, New Mexico

 Venue: Room N101
Computer Science and Information Technology Building
               North Road
               The Australian National University

See http://clug.org.au/ for more directions and a map

Food/drink: Pizza and soft drink/juice. Come hungry, and bring
about $6 to cover the cost of your share if you
               want some.
