[clug] Android and USB cameras via OTG. Any suggestions?

I got an inspection camera recently. I found a free app called USBWebCamera by Serenegiant. It works OK. I can't comment on the security or mal intent except to say that it has a really annoying adv panel that pops up even though I don't recall giving it permission to access any network.

It starts up as soon as I plug in the camera. There were a series of dialogs asking about defaults when I installed it that apparently cause this although the intent wasn't clear at the time but I quite like that aspect of it.

It came in really handy the other day when I was in the ceiling trying to find a cable in the wall. The fact that I could use my phone meant I could easily get it through the obstacle course that is in my roof. It would have been a nightmare to take a laptop up there.
